Description
This IDEAS for Learning Newsletter reached the faculty of Emerson College on April 6th, 2026. This is the first published issue of April 2026. This is the fourteenth issue of the third volume. It includes event reminders like Alternative Grading Community of Practice: Open to All Faculty, Robert Engel Research Grants Fund Applications due 4/7, and Co-Writing and Coffee. Near the top is a support for your story with insights from the Academic Assessment Culture @ Emerson Survey which shows the difference in overall faculty and collaboration with OAA from 2021 compared to 2026. Our spotlight stories are on Emily Scherny's partnership with artists for humanity and Dr. Maryam Salehomum on communication efficacy for deaf or hard of hearing students. It features updated links for last issue's stories on Paul Turano’s Mind Mapping Written Assignments into Visual Art and Dr. Danielle Drees’s Verbal Midterm Exam. Lastly, there are stories on opportunities for faculty like Equity and Access Through Open Educational Resources: A Funded Opportunity for Professional Development, a call for Alumni Award for Teaching Innovation, and help with planning a human subjects research study with Emerson Institutional Review Board. The bottom of the newsletter includes a link to other newsletters which is located on Digital Commons.
