Brief Description
In March, Stroud hosted a highly-acclaimed exhibition of prints by artists from Cuba's premiere workshop in Havana. The show has led to further projects with the island. "Our Cuban visitors made an enormous impression which we plan to build on – from sending an exhibition of prints by local artists to Havana in November, to taking parties of local artists and students to Cuba, and working on future collaborative projects," said Carlos Ordonez, of the Printmaking Cooperative. It has also led to a book – Calle Habana – published by Carlos Ordonez, in collaboration with Cuban poet, Pablo Medina. "It features photographs and poetry that scratch below the colourful surface of the city to reveal the extraordinary resilience of its inhabitants," said Pablo Medina.
